I had the pleasure of meeting some of the key supporters in this "little" challenge we're facing today. The challenge of ousting an extremely dangerous adversary, Donald Trump.

Carson city is the capitol and is a politically diverse demographic of native Nevadans, staunch Republicans and in the past decades has seen a massive influx of Californians who are "immigrating" to the silver state to escape California's ever-increasing cost of living.

I'm one of them. I moved here with my Wife about 20 years ago after growing up in the Silicon Valley. We also lived in Southern California where we saw beautiful farm land being paved over to make way for what I have to decribe as a scary population growth. On some level I consider our "immigration" parallel to what's happening on the U.S. borders. People are escaping countries that are facing not only population explosions but crime and violent, deadly political oppression.

My opinion when I hear someone say "we've got to close the borders" is a result of seeing the real problem. When we were kids the population of the planet was about 3 billion.... we're approaching 9 billion and the number of mouths to feed will grow exponentially. Closing a passage from one country to another is not even putting a bandaid on the scratch.

There are lots of "MAGA" hats in Carson City. They love their "cult leader", they love their guns. They pride themselves on being "law abiding patriots". I try to not engage in conversations with them about About Trump. I've found there's no moving them away from the notion "Democrats are for lazy people who want to be supported by public money". It's almost a mantra. Big gas guzzling Ford 350's spewing black smoke and bumper stickers saying "I'm Republican because I work".

Have I painted a picture of life in our town? Here's my point...

These Members of the Carson City Nevada group "Indivisible" are spending time talking to people. They're asking them not only "who are you voting for?" they're asking them "why?". This is a very brave position to be in in our fair city.

I give these people credit for their "fight" on the streets here, and the people doing this across our nation. November is coming quickly and there has been no other time in our country where it has been more important to truly take our country back from big money.
