Most probable: All of the above.
For sure you can bet Trump didn't make an early return to DC to respond to the 3,337 Americans who died in the past 24 hours... or the 4,016 who passed away yesterday!
No he's back early to try to dismantle the 2020 election. All that's been on his little MAGA-brain mind since November.
The Senate will officially count (aka recognize) the 2020 Presidential election results this next Wednesday, January the 6th. In normal times, you know basically every damn year since 1776, this would be just a formality. In Trump's era this is probably going to turn into a calamity.
Fascist MAGA-hatters are calling for their "patriots" to assemble, and probably TAKE ARMS against their foe.
Who's their foe? THE POPULOUS.
Democrat Joe Biden won the U.S. Presidential Election by one of the largest margins in history. In the past 200 years almost every Republican President elected LOST the popular vote.
2000 Republican George W. Bush lost the popular vote to Democrat Al Gore.
Democratic Grover Cleveland won the 1888 popular vote by more than 90,000 votes over Republican Benjamin Harrison, but lost the electoral vote 233 to 168.
1876 Democrat Samuel Tilden beat Republican Rutherford B. Hayes by more than 200,000 votes but only got 184 electoral votes (not the 270 required) Congress set up a commission composed of representatives of both parties to decide the winner; on March 2, three days before the inauguration, they chose Republican Hayes.
1824 Andrew Jackson won pluralities of both the popular vote and the Electoral College, but not a majority, sending the election to the House of Representatives. Two of the Republican Candidates joined and were chosen to rule.

2016 Trump won the Electoral College, 304 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton’s 227 — but lost the popular count by 2.8 million votes.
You see, the Republicans have a long-standing tradition of screwing the public's will in favor of ruining, oops! I meant "running" our Country into the ground. This is the purist example of the wealthy playing games with the masses.
So, of course, this week Trump will mount his high horse and join his ranks in chanting "OVERTURN" "ABOLISH" and "CONQUER".
Luckily, our Congress knows in this age of "fake news" every human in the USA will be watching their moves this time. The people voted for Joe Biden. Trump's months of Rudy Giuliani circus lawsuits accusing 80 million people of voter tampering and fraud have turned out to be false.
Ironic, Trump, the person who conspired with Russia in the 2016 election, the person who conspired with the US mail system, conspired with state Republicans to make it harder for Democrat voters to vote... AND conspired with Russia again in 2020 IS THE PERSON WHO ALLEGED THE REST OF US CHEATED!!!
So, grab your popcorn. And watch Trump, his allies, Russians, Republicans and the Billionaires this week, and over the next 20 days.
