Trump has used immigration as a political tool. Facts show an overwhelming number of hundreds of thousands of babies being born in poverty within our country every year... Trump has convinced his followers these 7,000 will take food off their table.
Trump has given authorization for U.S. Military and police to USE LETHAL FORCE against innocent unarmed men, women, children.
Yesterday was the day the caravan reached our border. They were met with threats of death, world war II style gun lines, tear gas, etc. These people aren't walking 1,400 miles to "steal our jobs" they're escaping bloodshed.
Without the watchful eye of the media (That which Trump calls "fake Liberal news") there is no doubt people would have been killed.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IN THIS "CIVILIZED" WORLD?

Most of the people of earth distrust the U.S. and now with this U.S. President spouting "greatness" "America first" . "lock them up" , "f**k the rest" rhetoric daily, hourly there are growing numbers of people everywhere who want to hold our country accountable. They feel we caused their grief and we owe them a solution. True and false, but a solution will be easier said than done.
Let's be "Liberal" for a moment. We don't own the entire problem. Drugs, corruption and oppression have been in human existence for thousands of years. But, as the "world leading power" on some lever we do have a responsibility.
With a major power, the United States of America viewed as a sanctuary and hope there will be thousands, maybe millions of people who will turn to us for help... for a new life. That, is what we've all believed to be the role our country. We have statues saying we "welcome the weary". We have catchy songs about people finding new lives in the "land of opportunity" and "the land of the brave, the free"
Should we take in these refugees? Yes and no. We have, and will... and sometimes we will not. But a blanket order to "turn them away with force"… DEPLORABLE!
Immigration has always been a complicated issue. and one thing is a given, immigration will continue to become a pressing matter worldwide as the population continues to grow. Signs show we are on a planet that cannot feed and support many more billions. That is the "core problem". That is why it's so puzzling the Trump/Pence/Maxi-Religious world is so against family planning????!!! They literally say "we want every baby to be born… then go away
