This week several things happened that those of us with concern about surviving this pandemic found appalling.
* Trump violated Nevada State mandates to limit public gatherings to no more than 50 people. His campaign rallies in Minden (Reno) and Las Vegas where most people stood shoulder to shoulder UNMASKED will no doubt be responsible for many infections and deaths. We hope to be able to find out the number people affected but Trump has also eliminated most of the U.S. Virus tracking systems. Anything he can do to make it appear the virus is going away.
* Trump met with emergency task personnel in Sacramento who pleaded with him to change his course on eliminating environment protections. Californa, Oregon and Washington are on fire. 38 people have died, thousands of homes and businesses burned to the ground. California Governor Gavin Newsom begged him to listen to them about the imminent long-term destructive results of Climate Destruction due to over-production and burning of fossil fuels... Trump turned around and boasted about oil production and cheap gas at his next meeting! He just doesn't get it. The USA is on it's way to being the world's leading producer of GLOBAL CLIMATE DESTRUCTION.
* Trump held a town hall meeting in Pennsylvania where undecided voters were permitted to ask him direct questions about why he "played down" the virus, it's severity, and to answer for his negligence resulting in the death of almost 200,000 Americans. Trump's responses can be described as "irrelevant" "hollow" "delusional". At one point Trump literally tried to blame the CoronaVirus and lack of decisions on his Democratic 2020 opponent Joe Biden! (For the record Biden is NOT the president... yet)
The next day Trump undermined statements made by Robert Redfield, the appointed head of the CDC who under oath during a Senate Subcommittee hearing told the world "masks are more protective against the CoronaVirus than a vaccine." Stating a vaccine might only have be an effective cure to 70 percent of the pollution. Masks are proven to limit the spread of the virus in all face-to-face interactions.
After Trump's ignorant words some of his followers took to the streets… chanting "no masks, take off your masks" they might as well chanted "I'm a covidiot, let's kill each other!"
This all adds to the growing evidence for the upcoming Congressional hearing to determine if Trump's response to the CoronaVirus that has killed almost 200,000 Americans was reckless, dangerous and criminally negligent.
Most of know the answer to that question.
