I don't care if you're talking about natural disasters, a pandemic or a broken toe nail most situations of impeding harm will give you hints.
We all have been ignoring the "hints" for decades. We all saw the weather getting more extreme, we saw lakes and rivers drying up, we saw the list of animals disappearing into extinction... but, we went out there and bought our gas cars... our SUVs... our 4 by 4's.

My response... I gave it some serious thought and tried to do something, anything I could to help the world ween itself off oil.
I started a little website back when people in Los Gatos (The Cats) California were mumbling something about this new thing called the "Worldwide Web". I kind of had to bend some branches of that web to obtain what was called a "domain".
ElectricCars.com was my contribution to curing our oil addiction. When I told people my plans to create "a website about electric cars" they laughed. I can't blame them. Back in the early 90s EV's were high school science class projects. They looked like reject ideas for robots in Star Wars movies... they had no range... usually about 10-20 miles and they could "blast" down the road at a whopping 10 mph. In fact most electric cars only existed as drawings in Popular Science magazine.
We were doing pretty well throughout the early 2000's. We were working with little auto shops, usually in the backs of window, furniture and pond maintenance company warehouses. Usually one of the employees had talked their boss into "allowing them" to tinker with motors, and batteries...
You know, how Apple Computer started...
Then in 1994 some "Libtard Democrats" listened to Al Gore. They created legislation that went by many name "The Clean Air Act". This brilliant, forward thinking phase out of oil burning engines over 20-25 years was to start sometime around 1998. By 2010 approx. 20 percent of every car made in the USA was to be powered by volts. By 2020 approx. 80 percent.
Imagine where we would be today... Imagine looking up into your sky and seeing that crayon you loved that was the color "Sky Blue".
Today we see what looks like the factory blew up that makes the "Burnt Umber" crayons.
Republicans didn't like the Clean Air Act. They said it would "cost oil jobs" electric cars were "too expensive" etc. Sadly. They were correct. But, what they didn't factor into their math was the "cost" the world would suffer from GCD.
On Nov 9, 2016 my project ElectricCars.com and it's spin off ElectricConversions.com died. The world's most "technologically advanced" country put in power a person who committed himself to destroying clean energy industries. A person who convinced 40+ million Americans life would be "great" if we increased oil consumption.
This week, California reported it's worst wildfires in history. Last year CA broke that record TWICE! Over 1.4 million acres have burnt in the past 10 days. Hundreds of homes and structures destroyed. Seven lives lost.
Yesterday the most destructive environmentally moronic president in U.S. history during his opening speech at the Republican Convention bragged in front of a cheering Republican crowd "We're the worlds top producer of oil" "I've gotten rid of EPA regulations" "we can damn rivers" "we're going to drill more, frack more".
Trump said "alternative power costs too much". Sadly he's right. But, let's start tallying up all the costs of fire fighting, lost homes... lost lives.
