When I started my anti-gun group "Gundumb" about 5 years ago people accused me of trying to "violate people's second amendment rights"
Similar to what we've been hearing from almost the same people about directives to wear masks to help slow the deadly spread of CoronaVirus.
Similar to what we heard years ago when governments enacted seatbelt laws...
"They're taking away by freedoms"
"this is Nazism, this is Socialism"
These people need to actually STUDY the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They might see how our country has adopted means to adjust laws to best serve our society BASED UPON CURRENT FACTS.
CURRENT FACT 2015: 30,000 people were being killed every year in our country by gun violence, gun accidents and non-premeditated gun murders.
CURRENT FACT 2020: That number has grown to 40,000 per year.
So, yea, I think this ridicules build up of guns in the hands of people who think they are "oh so amazingly smart and level headed they have the right to decide who lives or dies" is INSANITY.
But the other reason I became so adamant about trying to lesson the number of guns, assault weapons, and worse is that it appeared to me most the people I saw who were "gundumb gun crazy" seemed to have underlining desires to become militaristic.
My opinion about most of them was they saw our country becoming more Liberal (the act of making decisions based on current facts) and a lot of them were "unmasked" racists.
I really didn't buy it that they needed an AR-15 because they wanted to feel safe in their home...
When the U.S.A. elected it's first African American President who wanted to strengthen gun laws I saw and heard disgusting words come from MOSTLY THE GUNDUMB PEOPLE I WAS SUBJECTED TO.
And here we are. 2020, seeing massive protests that have lasted more than two months over several murders of Black Americans at the hands of RACIST POLICE.
That's right I SAID IT... THE U.S. POLICE SYSTEM IS SATURATED WITH RACIST GUNDUMB MILITARISTIC POLICE OFFICERS.

Portland has become a boiling point. Trump's "answer" to nightly mostly peaceful protests near Federal buildings and police offices was TO SEND FEDERAL AGENTS TO SUPPRESS.
Trump literally sent gasoline to a fire because that's the way his brain thinks is best to put out a fire.
Hundreds of females, moms lined up in front of protesters to try to barricade them from these THUGS. They were joined last night by Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler...
they were TEAR GASSED!!!

Today, Trump's administration announced more thugs will be sent to Arizona, Chicago and other cities. Mayors on those cities are protesting this authoritarian move.
Trump during a press conference yesterday said he's doing this to "protect people from violent crime".

2. Trump supports the massively profitable gun and weapons industries that are feeding VIOLENT CRIME.
3. Sending THUGS WHO KIDNAP PEOPLE, VIOLATE PEOPLE'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, TEAR GAS MOMS!!!! IS VIOLENT CRIME.
4. Trump's entire failed impeached presidency is a VIOLENT CRIME to what was our beacon of justice country.
