In the weeks following several of the dictatorship assistants who walked side by side with Trump made clear statements they "didn't know he would turn an attack on U.S. citizens into photo op", or "they didn't realize what had happened" and "they had a flat, their car broke down, there was a terrible flood, locusts" (sorry, Animal House ref)

General Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Pentagon’s top general apologized on Thursday for appearing alongside President Trump near the White House after authorities fired tear gas, shoved and beat peaceful protesters who were lawfully exercising their Constitutional rights.

Gen. Milley said “it was a mistake that I have learned from."

Gen. Milley, made the remarks in a prerecorded graduation speech to students at the National Defense University. He has been roundly criticized for thrusting the military into politics by walking alongside the president on June 1 as Trump traveled on foot to a nearby church that had been damaged during protests following the police killing of George Floyd.

COMMENTARY:

Trump has yet to respond to gen. Milley's statements and it has been reported he was "irate" and "losing composure" over the days following this sad event.

The President of the United States misused our military, that WE ALL PAY FOR, by poising them to make a stand against us. And, when several top staff members failed to stand by him HE LOST IT.

Yikes.
