First of all no person with light colored skin can relate to what the murder of George Floyd represents. A (to be proven) racist Trump loving cop, with (proven) past violations and multiple complaints while in the support of at least two other officers ground his knee into a HAND-CUFFED man who was begging for his life.
THIS IS NOT GOOD! THIS IS HORRIFIC.
Is this Trump's fault? Yes, on this level. His words in July 2017 in front of one of the most abusive police forces in the world have had ripple effects ever since.
"When you guys put somebody in the car and you're protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, don't hit their head and they've just killed somebody. Don't hit their head. I said, you can take the hand away, okay?”
That's as offensive as it is stupid.
The video shot by a 17 year old girl of George's MURDER is haunting. People telling the police to stop, "you're killing him". And, the reason he was detained "possible money fraud". The store owner said George "may not have even known the $20 bill he used was counterfeit.
The four police officers were fired. But that doesn't mean they wont still be police. They just move on.
People were incensed. All the stresses from CoV19, all the years of hearing excuses for mostly black people being killed by police. And mix into that pot our country being run by the most racist president...
The people in Minneapolis who took to the streets were well in their rights and fully justified to protest this "next" police murder. The few bad actors who started fires and looted stores are also in line to be held accountable for their actions.
Just all bad.
Today, the Attorney General of Minneapolis during a press conference ignited the fire when she said "Trump and William Barr are closely monitoring this situation" ... just added insult to the fire.
This is another terrible event and I hope the people of Minneapolis focus on positive means to voice their position. And, I hope our nation continues to hold police to their sworn oath to "protect". And video the heck out of any of the very few police who violate public trust.
