Ok, if you would permit me to be a little high minded here for a minute. I am one of those people who when I hear people say "there might be life on other planets" I laugh hysterically.
Stream any program on the Hubble telescope and try to count the galaxies. Then factor each one of those galaxies has somewhere in the ballpark of ONE-THOUSAND-MILLION stars.
Each of those stars is a sun like our own.
Every sun creates it's own solar system. Each solar system "may very likely" have a class "M" planet. Far enough away from their sun to have atmosphere. Most planets are made of the same elements. Those elements bind together to create things... like gases, water, rock, lava, sand, soil... life.
Of course there's life everywhere. More life than any super-computer we ever create will be able to calculate. The universe goes on for-freakkin-ever.
Mind blown?
Nah, don't fret it. But my point is I give a grain of salt worth of legitimacy that we are a pet project for other life forms that visited our planet. I would not doubt they "seeded" our planet with living creatures and they check in on us once in a while.
Dennis Rodman is probably one of their case workers.
I would not doubt any advanced beings that observe our planet would be disappointed. Look what we've done.
Look at our cities, our rivers, our skies.
Seven plus billion people have reaped the benefits of life on this beautiful planet and in return we've turned it into a massive garbage dump.
Every breadth we take, we return with a poison. Every tree we cut down to build more shopping malls and factories shifts the balance from a healthy planet... to what we had 7 weeks ago.
And, if we were not created by other beings then nature did this herself. She's tries to teach us a lesson.
Are we listening? are were enjoying this clear blue sky...
I've lost several people in my life to lung cancers and emphysema. Most were smokers. That's a whole different lesson in taking care of the air. But, worldwide lung disease and the other effects of pollution have been compounding.
My Wife and I were walking in the foothills above Silicon Valley where I grew up in the 90's. We saw this thick gastly copper-brown air in the valley below. We said "we're moving".
We moved to Ventura California. Where the air was clean, crisp... beautiful "sky blue". As Los Angeles crept into the area those skies too became filthy.
We moved to the east side of the Sierras near Lake Tahoe. Our skies are still pretty clear. But, it's coming here too.
About ten years ago a group of Politicians, mostly Democrats visited Lake Tahoe. They were trying to drum up support for initiatives to continue fighting local, regional and worldwide corporate created pollution. President Obama flew in to the event. He is a rock star. The place was electrified.
I was granted Press Credentials because I run a little website ElectricCars.com
We were all so positive we were going to end the surge, the rape of our lands, sea and air.
We did!
Until... this "beast" came along. Who convinced people ramping up oil production was "great" eradicating restrictions, regulations on polluting factories was "great" Telling car companies to forget green technologies... stick with profitable gas burning motors... HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS MORE HAVE NOW BEEN PUT ON OUR STREETS WORLDWIDE.
Green technologies died Nov 8, 2016. The portion of our country's population that wanted to burn-frack-and-F-up our earth won. They got their "great again" man in office.
Trump went to war against clean air. He won... tremendously.
January 2020 the Earth spoke.
Not only is Mother Nature trying to show us how good we could have it... we're seeing OVER A MILLION PEOPLE infected from a virus... and
