The Arc de Triomphe is a cherished symbol of French national identity. It was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 honoring those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars and World War I., It represents military triumph. It houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Arc de Triomphe represents honor. Something Trump will never possess.
Unfortunately, the men and women who died in wars do not get to enjoy such a monument. Monuments of war are a small compensation for those lost.
