President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have repeatedly said Iran's capabilities were decimated. Days before an American F-15 jet was "Decimated" President Donald Trump had said Iran couldn't "do a thing" about American aircraft operating over its territory. For the past month he's been boasting, boasting, boasting about the American military having "dominance" in the skies, "obliterating" defense systems, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda. It's sickening to hear a president speak with such glee over what is amounting to be just a slaughter of Iranian citizens to do nothing but bolster Trump's egotistical self-love.
What is very dangerous about having a psychopath in the most powerful position is how his words land with the leaders and members of our military forces. When a president says something like "They (Iran) have no navy, no air force, no anti-aircraft equipment, no radar, no leaders left", that tends to put our defenses at ease. Air and ground missions tend to be a little more daring. Actions to provide adequate protection for pilots, crew and military forces in the theater are "doge'd" as they consider the enemy just a "little bit less of a threat". That "little bit" can amount to missiles penetrating the walls of defense for our brave soldiers.
Case in point:
Last Friday two Airmen ejected from an F-16 fighter inside Iranian territory. They had to be rescued by elite special operations forces specializing in combat search and rescue (CSAR) It was a life and death race to retrieve the men before hostile Iranian forces captured them. Their fate would have been dire. Iran tortures and executes it's prisoners.
THE U.S. LUCKED OUT THIS TIME.
And for the record Trump was probably golfing, stuffing his face or sleeping during military briefings while the rescuers risked their lives.
Several rescue aircraft were fired upon during the frantic rescue. An A-10 "tank killer" was shot down. Luckily the crews of those crafts suffered only minor injuries. The term "Minor" being defined as just life altering extremely painful destruction of someone's body... no big deal! [SARCASM!].
FUN FACTS: An F-15E Strike Eagle has a cost of $31 million dollars per aircraft, though full procurement packages with training and weapons can raise the per-unit cost significantly to over $100 million.
The man left behind rescue of the two Airmen in Iran cost an estimated $436 million USD. That's the estimated cost of the American aircraft that were destroyed in the process of rescuing the two missing airmen.
An A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" costs approximately $18.8 million to $19 million per aircraft.
People dead because of a president who spouts inaccurate validated real-time data, air superiority, ground truth, actionable Intelligence and flabbergasted war-time status points...
PRICELESS!
