I remember a day my Wife and I were walking our dog in the hills above Silicon Valley. We were looking straight across the Santa Clara Valley and couldn't see the other side due to the copper colored soot in the air.
That day we said "we have to get out of here!"
In 1998 we moved to Ventura California, a suburb North of Los Angeles. I remember looking up into the sky and seeing a bright blue I'd never seen before. Almost "white" it was so blue.
Eight years later that air was copper.
During these years I built ElectricCars.com. Back then electric cars weren't cool. They were laughed at. And I grew to dislike people who were fine n dandy pumping poisons into our air. I spoke with CEOs in Detroit who gave me "well educated common sense reasons" why electric cars would never be in their game plan.
people are smart. Society is MORONIC.
The people in control, the Billionaires who tell the CEO's what to make and sell fought the movement away from non-gas burning cars as if their life depended on it. The truth is all of OUR LIVES have been impacted by their profit-first mentalities.
The average American knows at least 5 people they were close to who have died from pollution related illness. Cancers and disease.
Over a 20 year period of time there were masses of people who "got it". We fought hard, long, grueling battles against cavemen executives, money-pocket Politicians and the biggest objector to cleaner air
The public.
In 2008 the world saw the first glimpse of financial "Armageddon". My prediction $4 gas would hit by 2010 came early. Business, families and the economy were devastated.
But the real damage was in the air. Our world was on path for GED. Global Environmental Destruction.
For a minute in time we saw hope. A young President who shared the experience of seeing clean air turn brown supported a shift away from fossil fuel burning.
In 2016 the Billionaires won.
Donald Trump has removed regulations on pollution causing manufacturing processes, he's relieved auto manufacturers from being "unfairly required" to improve gas mileage minimums, he's "saved them" from the expense of adopting clean vehicles. And he has singularly enabled the most backwards-thinking at the highest levels that will contribute WITHOUT ANY DOUBT to the end of lives.
What the average human doesn't realize is that this destruction of the protective layers of atmosphere is happening "exponentially'. It's getting worse at a faster rate every day.
The warning signs are ignored. Dead animals. More violent storms. Tides rising inches. These all seem small compared to the benefits of having over a billion gas motors and money-efficient (polluting) factories. Warnings ignored today will lead to deaths.
It costs money to dispose of waste products from manufacturing in a way that doesn't destroy soil and water and air... Trump gave thousands of companies the right to "save that money". Then he and the Republicans boast about that money going into our economy.
Money to develop new technologies safer for the environment are now being spent on increasing PROFITS. Trump and his Billionaires boast that money will "trickle down to the average person".
Wow, that's great. We'll have the money to pay for Chemo therapies and funerals. [SARCASM]
Even worse Trump has sent a message, from the most powerful person in the world to all countries saying "To hell with costly solutions.... burn away"
Yesterday the United Nations released a report saying (again) the ever growing level of environmental destruction is moving our world closer to peril.
Quote: "degrading at an alarming rate climate change could not only endanger humans but the ecological foundations of society"... species extinctions, increased premature deaths, blah blah blah.
Trump has a hold on the world. And people who have their heads so far up their asses they don't care what the air looks like.
Over the next few months our country is going to have the opportunity to Impeach Donald Trump.
