Protesters in and at state capitols across the nation gathered in cities across the U.S. on Wednesday to protest the Trump administration’s early actions. Thousands of concerned citizens protested peacefully with no violent actions reported. They condemned Trump’s elimination of vital public aid,his threats of backing out of NATO and ending military aid to Ukraine, his lack of civility concerning immigration and transgender rights, his proposal to forcibly transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and his violations to the constitution and his lack of respect for the rule of law. Additionally there seemed to be a large negative response to Trump's inclusion of billionaire Elon Musk, the leader of Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency. But, number one on these peaceful protestors minds was an overwhelming condemnation of Trump's Project 2025, the autocratic movement created by the Republican party to which Trump categorically denied would be part of his administration... that is.
Commentary:
I had the privilege of covering another amazing peaceful protest on the side of common sense today. It was great hearing a group of Police officers and Carson City Sheriffs saying how "nice these people are" how there's been no violence, acts of anger. A stark contrast to some small pro-Trump protests where people brandish AR's and insult people in passing cars. The worst, after the Women's march in Reno several years ago some NASTY DESCRIPTIVE showed up in military gear with assault weapons. I have a strict "Get the F away" rule when this stupidity happens. But, I did hear someone ask "What are you doing?" and the response was "we're here to keep the peace". WTF were they keeping the peace from? This was just before or after the famous moron Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old shot and killed two men and wounded another man in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In that case people were angry about Police killing unarmed people... his instant omnipotent judgement was for them to be put to death for breaking windows. Police arrest vandals. Morons kill.
