Quite a scene today at Washington National Cathedral. More than a dozen of the chosen few who were granted the powers of the greatest government on Earth attended to honor one of the most peaceful leaders in history.
Nothing was as powerful than President Biden's Eulogy for another president who sacrificed HIS credibility to make life better for millions.
Jimmy Carter left office with a low rating among Americans but as we saw over decades decisions he made changed the course of history. Peace in the Middle East is and was not a "popular goal" for any president. Speaking of "climate change" in the 1970's was like preaching to Lions about vegan diets. Those kind of potus points fell on deaf ears but nobody can accuse Carter of not truly trying.
Another thing that struck me watching the ceremony was the body language among the former presidents in the first rows and this person coming into power for the second time in just days. The ethic of "allowing another person to worship and follow his or her path even if wrong then treating them with respect" was tested to the 10s.
I especially paid attention to Trump's facial expressions. Genuine caring for others didn't seem to strike his face. He was just a Manhattan school boy sitting through another church surmon.
I am convinced Trump spent these hours playing power-games in his head... planning his attack on our country. While selling "greatness".
